This seems reasonable. I might try to slip a few other things into 1.6.
So, I owe everyone an apology  :-[. When I posted that back in May, I thought I'd do a few more quick and easy things in 1.6 (for example, adding some functions to improve ILC support) ... and they turned out to be less quick and easy and I procrastinated instead of either doing them or giving up.

Rather than continuing to do that, or trying to rush some additional changes, my inclination is to release 1.6 essentially as is. So unless there are objections, I'll declare 1.6 release candidate status with the aim of releasing it in a week or two.

I've got one more update to finsig_thumb2 that I'm testing if that's ok.

I made the usual thread https://chdk.setepontos.com/index.php?topic=14631.msg149019#msg149019 and wiki updates.

Given low traffic these days and minimal changes in this release, I don't expect much activity, but I'm a creature of habit  ;)

If nothing comes up, I'll aim to make the official release October 12.

Caefix:
If there are ports stable enough to be enabled, it doesn't have to be connected to a release.

I've made the new release branch and pinged the autobuild maintainers. I'll update the wiki after they've switched.

1.7 development can proceed, new thread here

Just downloaded from the Latest Builds - Unstable New Development Version 1.6.0, which says it is 1.7 after I load it: confused.

Anyway, just to say, my scripts all transfered seamlessly and are running OK.

Not a stress test, but this is the first build I've used on the M3 from the main page, ie I've got my builds from @philmoz recently.

Thanks to all those that have got us to this point.
