Hello all,

I might be blind or having some attention issues.

I have a Canon G15 and I am trying to take a long exposure shot, inside an inclosed place.

The problem is that the eyefinder green LED and the LCD don't turn off, which causes light interference. Is there anyway to turn those off, whenever I am taking a long exposure shot?

All the Best!

The display can be turned off with the script function set_lcd_display. The backlight can also be turned off separately with set_backlight. See https://chdk.fandom.com/wiki/CHDK_Scripting_Cross_Reference_Page

The LED can be turned on or off using set_led, but that only changes the state at the moment the function is called. The camera may still blink the leds for various reasons. If it's a problem, you might cover it with electrical tape or something like that.

It's also possible that what you are seeing is actually "amp glow", not stray light. On many cameras, this appears as a purple glow around some edges or corners of the sensor in long exposures. Searching the forum and google for that term will give you more information.
Don't forget what the H stands for.
