Thanks. Yes on an M3 it changes from 720 to 1024.

Feedback after testing

Using the get_gui_screen_width works well and I can adjust my drawing accordingly.

I think there is still an issue with the console, however.

Unless I'm mistaken you can't turn the console off or reposition it?

That is you can use Always on or on only in ALT mode to control the console. But that's it.

Yes I tried setting the console size to 0,0,0,0 but no luck.

In the end I implemented the palliative of 0,0,1,1 that is showing the smallest console you can.

Maybe in a future CHDK uplift you can consider recognising 0,0,0,0 as off?

From the description, set_console_autoredraw(-1) should prevent text from being written to it, which I think will effectively make it not displayed.
Don't forget what the H stands for.
