Console and CHDK ALT positioning

@reyalp

As I look to improve the user experience with my scripts, for example see my latest M3 Bracketing post, I’m stymied by two things.

First, the CHDK ALT line, at the bottom of the screen, hides/overlays Canon info.

Second, although I can change the size of the console, I can’t position it on the LCD, ie it’s always in the bottom left.

Is there any chance we, you ;-), could add a feature to allow the scripter to position these two areas?

Cheers

But I feel the same way. Especially if you haven't used some functions for a while ...

We're all human  :haha
BTW, there's only so much fine tuning you can do when you need to address the LCD and the EVF.
These two display stuff differently ;-)

Yes of course. LCD and EVF have different resolutions.

Yep and no way of detecting what one is being used from within Lua.

I guess until one of the CHDK gurus implements a way, I personally don’t know of a way to test from with Lua.

Not an issue for me, even with the console floating in the middle left of the EVF  ;)

I’m content with what I’ve got.

I see get_gui_screen_width and get_gui_screen_height on this page: https://chdk.fandom.com/wiki/CHDK_Scripting_Cross_Reference_Page
Are they updating when switching between LCD and EVF?
