Hi!

Is there a way to get a clean HDMI output on a G7X MII?

The release notes for 1.5 mention "Clean HDMI out in rec mode (only on EOS M and G*X cameras with native HDMI out in rec support)", but I'm not sure what rec mode is and if that "G*X" should include G7X.

This feature doesn't appear to be implemented in the G7X mk2 port. It could probably be added.

"Rec mode"  picture / video taking mode, as opposed to playback.
"(only on EOS M and G*X cameras with native HDMI out in rec support)" means this feature can only be supported on cameras which already have the ability to output HDMI while in rec (shooting) mode.

I have enabled clean HDMI for the G7X2.


Revision 5912 for trunk 1.6.
Revision 5914 for release 1.5.

Hello, I know it's been a while since this thread but seemingly I'm missing something and have no idea how to enable clean HDMI or kill Canon overlay. I'm using the G7X m2 with CHDK build 110b. Can anyone please elaborate?

As described in the first post of https://chdk.setepontos.com/index.php?topic=13489.msg137681#msg137681 you should be able to use Video Parameters -> Clear Canon overlays [Rec] (or MviRec) to disable the Canon overlays on G7 X mk2. If that doesn't work, we'll need more detail.
