I installed CHDK on a Transcend 32-GB Class-10 SDHC Card for use with a Canon Powershot S100.  That camera broke, so I can't test it or use it to try to format the card, but the card always worked with it.  The card hasn't been used since then.  I got a new Canon G9X, and it shows an error message with the card inserted.  The Format option is unavailable in the camera's menu.  The computer could read that card fine, and I formatted it using Windows' tool, as well as SD Association's SD Memory Card Formatter, with the card's Lock both on and off.  I don't know what else I can do.  I tested the camera with a different card, and it works.

Is there a way to repair this problem so I can continue to use this card and not have to buy another?

Are there 2 driveletters in explorer? Then You would probably need a tool to undo that.  :-[
&& There´s no port nor thread for G9x.

What specific error message does the G9X show?

If the card was used for CHDK in S100, it was probably partitioned, which I think is what Caefix is suggesting.

I would expect you could use windows storage management (diskmgmt.msc, also available from the "Computer Management" app) to delete whatever partitions are there. Be sure you have the card selected (not a system drive!) if you do this.

No, only one drive letter in Explorer (only one for this 'Disk' in Disk Management).

Weird, I'm not aware of anyone reporting issues like this. If it is really a formatting / partitioning issue, it's possible that some other tool would fix it, but given that 32GB cards are under $5, just getting a fresh one might be the best approach.

If you do want to keep messing with it, a few ideas
1) With disk manager, delete everything all volumes/partitions from the card, eject the card, and then format it in explorer (you want to format the entire card, which will be the default in explorer, where in disk manager you might inadvertently end up with a more complicated partition table setup)
2) Use an SD specific format tool like the one from the SD card association https://www.sdcard.org/downloads/formatter/ (some SD card vendors may offer their own tools)
3) Use linux and something like gparted to examine the current configuration and/or delete whatever is there. There are various live (usb/cd bootable) distros available if you don't have a linux system.

edit:
One other thing, since the card was presumably locked when you used it with CHDK, make sure the card lock is completely in the unlock position. The camera should just say "card locked" if it's locked, but maybe it could cause problems in combination with other issues.

S95, Chimp installation: 2 partitions, bootable. Explorer shows E: 14,6GB, M:\ total size 1,96MB
Swapped partitions with Chimp, still 2 driveletters.  ???
Maybe Chimp ~ detect card ~ asks for "Select Card Drive"?

I'll buy a new one then.  Never even used CHDK so it wasn't worth destroying a memory card.
