cannot load CHDK on my SX210IS anymore

Hello to all
I had an old version of CHDK_DE on my SX210IS that I erased.
I formated the card and downloaded CHDK_DE_sx210is-100c-1.5.1-6023-full.zip into the card.
I unzipped the file in the card, removed the zip file and extracted the content of the CHDK_DE_sx210is-100c-1.5.1-6023-full and  put it on the card.
The problem is that I do not have the Firmware update option in the camera menu any more (I used to have it before all these changes)
my firmware version is GM1.00C(1.0.0.0.)

I tried to use stick (I am on MacOS) but the install failed.
Did I ruin my camera in some sort ?

I am not very familiar with the terminal. But I tried the method using the terminal.
Unfortunately I received this message :

Mac-Pro-de-ADMINISTRATEUR-905:
CANON_DC administrateur$ xattr -d com.apple.quarantine DISKBOOT.BIN PS.FI2
xattr: No such file: DISKBOOT.BIN
xattr: No such file: PS.FI2

very surprising as those files are in the CANON_DC card :
camnotes.txt
changelog.txt
CHDK
DISKBOOT.BIN
PS.FI2
readme.txt
vers.req

Can some one provide some help or explanation ?

If you reformatted your card using the camera, or in your Mac without a special utility like Stick, it will be a single 4GB FAT32 partition. There should only be a second partition if you successfully used a tool like stick, and in that case you should probably see it in disk utility.

Your camera cannot auto-start CHDK when the card is formatted FAT32, but you should also still be able to start with "firm update" if there's a PS.FI2 on the card.

According to the Mac FAQ, you can format a card 4GB FAT16 from Terminal, but be very careful because 1) The information in the FAQ is very old, 2) Using the commands on the wrong disk could damage your Mac OS.

But if you do

You get file not found? That seems quite odd. You could try

xattr -c DISKBOOT.BIN PS.FI2
-c is supposed to clear all extended attributes
