The problems you are having mostly seem to be down to CHDK being confusing and not user friendly. It's up to you to decide whether it's worth your time to learn it.

It's really unhelpful to post stuff like this in thread where a user is struggling to get the basics of CHDK. It didn't have anything to do with their specific questions, just added noise and confusion without helping.

Please, if you're going to reply, make an effort to actually help the person you are replying to. If you're going to post a script, explain clearly in simple terms how the script addresses their problem.
