the 28mm macro, ...
The lens with the light-switch...  :D was nice to have it scriptable.

Edit: Probably Super-macro is a different mechanical setup with a limited range, less than infinity and therefore an own LUT.   :haha

The 1:1 setting on the lens allows the user to focus from macro to infinity and the focus curve looks like the attached.

At the super macro setting, one can not focus to infinity :-(

The 1/2 cm @ near-end less usually doesn´t hurt.  ::)

I've reached a stopping point now, ...  :-*

The next need is some get_zoom(). Can it be derivated somehow?
EFM 11-22, 15-45 & 18-150 have in common 0x3f=64 zoom_steps.

Code: [Select]
ZoomPos                    : 0x3f
 ZoomPosSize                : 0x3f
What was the relation between subj_distance/LUT & get_zoom() ... :blink:

@Caefix

The Canon side clearly has a record of the focus steps, ie upper and lower brackets.

Have you come across a record that has the total number of rotations, ie the 28mm macro has some 2200.

Cheers

Garry

No idea @all  :(
Since compiler can´t even guess the attached lens, it´s probably somewhere in lens firmware.

Edit: 0x3f focus_stops * x mysterymeter  :haha

 ;) Another limit (M3,100)  :-X :
29 GB SD-memory / sizeof (.cr2+.jpg) {=~42+6Mb} =~ 600 steps/card.

There c_jörg stacked 60 steps, for far less then close to nose to infinity...

I’ll keep smiling, but in ignorance ;-)

Keep them coming.
