Drawing Funky Frame Overlays Over Photos Live In-Cam???

I have been thinking about making a script that can draw frames over photos I take live in-cam. I expect this should be possible as the cameras can draw circles, ellipses, squares, rectangles, text, and lines filled or not filled with color. For example the "rule of thirds grids" and "screen tests" scripts in CHDK itself that draws colored shapes. There's also a script called rawdraw.lua within the CHDK Scripts Folders, that draws some rectangles and squares and saves them in-image. So I was wondering, if it could be possible to design some basic colored frames that can be viewed in-camera live and then also save them overlaid on top of the image. Is it possible to make the shapes' borders thicker? Is it possible to change the shape border colors? is it possible to use shapes to make new shapes? I don't know what is and isn't possible because this kind of documentation is very vague... Please help...  :D
