hi there
I have a PowerShot SX740, but unfortunately there is no CHDK available for it, although there is one for the SX730, which is very similar. Any outlook for a SX740?

At this stage highly unlikely (IMO).

The SX740 is a Digic 8 camera - there are no other Digic 8 cameras with CHDK support so it will take someone with the camera, and time to do the reverse engineering needed.

There is no guarantee CHDK can even be made to work on Digic 8 - there is only one Digic 7 camera supported and it was a lot of work to get it up and running.

SX740 is an EOS cam, we have early Magic Lantern code working on it. I haven't tested it personally, it probably includes ML GUI, given the available stubs. There will be no real features at this stage. And most Digic 8 cams have a currently not understood intermittent crash bug.

I think this means there'll never be CHDK for SX740? But perhaps, eventually, Magic Lantern.
