Hi,

I have a immediate need for a custom version of CHDK minimizing all features except for the motion detection. I don't need or want any other feature.
I would like the camera to boot into the normal camera mode until the alt button is pressed. At this time I need the software to open up the motion detection portion of the software. I don't wish to run anything in the way of scripts other than the motion detection script. This effort does not need to be optimized code. It can be as simple as disabling all other features and menus, so they simply do not appear. As long as the motion detection functionality remains intact.

You could reduce the /SCRIPTS/ folder to Your md_scripts.

Then Your last default code starts after clicking <alt>:haha <shoot_full>:haha

FWIW, in the script menu, you can set Autostart to  "ALT", which would seem to cover the most essential portion of your use case. See https://chdk.fandom.com/wiki/CHDK_1.5_User_Manual#Scripting_(program_your_camera)
If you actually *need* to disable the rest of CHDK functionality, that's non-trivial, but maybe if describe what your actual project is and why this is necessary, someone will want to help.
