Hi, I used the STICK method to make my SD card bootable.
Powershot SD750, latest stable version of CHDK.

When I power on the camera it boots into playback mode. I then have to halfpress the shutter button to get it into shooting mode.

Is there a setting I can enable to start the camera into shooting mode right away?

FWIW, on many ports, holding down the power button boots into shooting mode. If that doesn't work on SD 750, let us know, we may be able to fix it. I think this port may be so old it predates the discovery of that workaround, so it may not be implemented.

Just tried it out and it didn't work - it just doesn't power on at all.

If it's too much of a hassle to port it over then don't do it just for me and maybe a handful of other users, i'm very okay with pressing the shutter to activate shooting mode.
