Although I don’t shoot film, I thought some on this forum may be interested in my latest bit of fun, creating an XPan simulator:

A 617 aspect ratio test, shot with my Canon M10 using my LBS script and a 617 grid:

Hi. Would it be possible to modify this script to work on different cameras? Specifically, the PowerShot S3 IS? I don't need the specific focal length simulation, really. I only want to be able to shoot at the xpan format/ratio at any focal length.

On vacation at the moment ;~)


The script is very simple and I’d be surprised if you couldn’t tweak it yourself.


I put the cam test in to limit it to the cams I have.


Just remove lines 47-51 and see what happens or explicitly add your cam.

Maybe for your needs you just need to create a custom 617 grid ;-)
