The short version is that I am using an ESP32 and via Wi-Fi, BT and IR I can trigger a number of cameras: Phone cameras, Canon and Nikon via IR, Canon via PTP/IP, Panasonic and Olympus via Wi-Fi. As I get more cameras I will add others as well (Nikon, Sony and Fuji are my next goals). The code is Arduino specific, but with minor modifications it can run on a Linux OS or even on Windows.
