Continuous shooting with a single button hit

I have a PowerShot A490 camera. CHDK works FLAWLESSLY on it and I love it.

There's one feature I really wish was there. Right now, if I want to take 100 photos of the night sky I need to either do them separately or hold the shutter button. I wish there was a way to hit the button once and then simply let the camera do it's job until either:

A) It reaches the requested number (for example, 100 photos);
B) SD card is filled up;
C) Battery pack is dead.

How hard will it be to make this feature in CHDK?

You can do this with an intervalometer script. My fixedint.lua script is an example of written specifically for astrophotograhy.
Don't forget what the H stands for.
