Has anyone successfully built and used DNG4PS-2 on Linux.  I have it built and it seems to convert to uncompressed DNG without an issue but Lightzone, rawstudio, and UFRaw all crash when I try to open the resulting file.  DNG4PS-2 just hangs when I attempt to convert to a compressed DNG.

Wine works flawlessly with the windowsversion,just to let u know.that should work as a temp. Workaround.i use that combination all the time.

I really don't want to use WINE.  So far I have avoided it on this installation and I would like to keep it that way if at all possible.  Also I would really like to know if anyone has successfully created DNGs with it on Linux.  Maybe someone has the solution to my problem.

Hi,

Have you been able to use the Linux installer on the program's home page?  Trying to understand whether it is a problem on Linux in general, or just the ability to compile/build on your system.

The only installer on the site is an RPM and I do not use an RPM-based system.  I don't have a problem compiling or installing on my system either, I just can't get it to work properly once it is installed.  The DNG files are not valid and crash rawstudio, UFRaw, and LightZone when I attempt to open them so I know it is something with the DNG itself.

Do I have to install code:blocks to compile dng4ps-2 in linux or is there a way to compile it from comand line ??
I want to create a gentoo ebuild for it

Code:Blocks is only required when editing the GUI for the program.  Scripts/makefiles/etc are included with the source for compiling on the command line, though you may need to tweak them depending upon your system's configuration.

That doesn't seem to be the case for the latest svn at least.  There is no makefile, although I have successfully scripted the compile using code::blocks commandline options.

Apologies, you are correct.  I saw all the other UNIX build scripts and assumed there would be one for the main program as well.  Appears Windows is the only platform where Code:Blocks isn't mandatory to build the program.

I tried to install dng4ps-2.rpm on an Ubuntu 7.10 ( you can do that with Kpackage) but too many unsatisfied dependencies so I returned to dng4ps-2 Windoze under Wine, it works perfect. Rawstudio, Digikam, Rawtherapee, Photoline under Wine, and others I have open this DNGs. LightZone refuses to load and crashes, I guess this is a LZ problem, the Linux version is under heavy bugging and little support.
