Shoot command lock up on AllBest build

I have downloaded and set up the allbest CHDK build "allbest-a640-100b-51-406" and have the camera zooming though the remote function.

However, when I call the 'shoot' command. it sometimes works, it sometimes hangs.

Sometimes it hangs with a little camera symbol in red with shaking lines on it.
Sometimes it hangs with the green squares of auto focus. But never actually focuses.

UPDATE: This only seems to happen in auto and portrait mode. In landscape mode. There doesn't seem to be a problem.

Has anyone else had this problem? / propose solutions?

Cheers, Sam.

Is the flashlight in auto mode? Some scripts have problems with flash.

I've seen this behaviour also on my SD870 when flashlight was in auto mode !

Oh, great, so I'm not alone :). Not 100% sure what you mean by flashlight in auto mode, as I don't need any sort of flash, how can I disable this, or would it be acceptable to just leave it in land scape mode? Idealy I'd like no problem with opperating in auto mode.

Cheers,
Sam.

Flaslight in auto mode:
in camera's auto mode the flash can be A(uto) or Off, press RIGHT KEY to toggle this state (in manual mode there's a third setting ON).

The scripts should be used in manual mode, some scripts cannot work in auto mode, often there are some descriptions for required settings in the script's header.
