The HV30 HDV camera uses DIGIC-II - anyone know if they will run code off of the memory card? (i.e. is there any chance they can be hacked in a similar way?)

I know these cameras are fairly pricey, but if anyone has one that they can test to see if it will try to boot off of the card that would be good to know for future reference.

Checked the specs on Canon site, and processor is actually 'Digic DV II'  (whatever that means ...)
Also, it uses miniSD cards, and I doubt if those have a write-protect tab, so autoloading would be impossible.
That said, I suppose owners could give the VER.REQ trick a try, to see if reactions are comparable with
those of digicams

Reactions are not the same. No love with ver.req trick: http://www.hv20.com/showpost.php?p=65358&postcount=12

another quote on that thread said that "according to the Canon website, every camcorder that they have produced from 2007 on, uses the same proprietary operating system, DRYOS?" So we may be working with DryOS instead of VxWorks...

Here is the latest update:
HF10 (Digic DV II) decrypting...

The chances are high that HF100 uses the same core as HV* set.
