First, let me say that CHDK is awesome!! And I'm serious, I'm not just sucking up to get help with my problem.
Autoload doesn't seem to work for me. I have an S2 IS (1.00e) and loaded CHDK 148 on it. Used "make card bootable" then locked the card. When I turn on the camera, it just reports a "card locked" error and won't take pictures. The card is 1GB which I assume formats to FAT16 by default. I reformatted it with "format I: /fs:fat" just to make sure it was FAT16 and that didn't fix the problem.
Interestingly, the file browser in CHDK sees the DISKBOOT.BIN file, but reports
for the file size and no timestamp. The file looks fine when I view the card with a card reader.
Any ideas?
Update: The problem only occurs with my A-Data SD card. Both of my SanDisk cards autoload fine.
