Hi. This is sort of my first post here, so dont shoot me :P

I was wondering if any of you know how to change exposure levels on that cam, through chdk or otherwise. I couldn't find the setting in regular camera setup stuff, nor can I find it in chdk, and my pictures taken without flash end up very damn dark, as if the exp is set to -2 or so, which is really annoying.

I'd be grateful if anyone could shed some light on that thing for me. :)

I am not sure I understand what you are asking.

Are you speaking of the "EV" correction (or exposure correction) ?

In auto mode, you can't set it, it's all tuned by the camera.

In other modes (for example, in P mode) you press the button marked with +/- and it opens a small thingy where you can set it.

A simple test is to disable CHDK: unlock the SD card and see if the effect is also visible without CHDK.

If you find out the effect is only visible when CHDK is loaded, you might have set an override value. Open the CHDK menu and go to "Extra photo operations". Here you can set overrides, i.e. force some values of the camera. To disable all overrides, all the "Value factors" should be set to "Off".

Also note that the last item in the same menu (Clear overrides on start) is useful for this, as you can decide if the camera should clear or remember the override values when you power it off.

Edit: oh wait nonono I lied, on the 570 is (according to http://images.digitalcamerainfo.com/images/upload/Image/Canon%20Powershot%20A570IS/Product%20Photos/A570IS-back.jpg) you press the little exposure button top left of up/down arrows :)
ummm... not too sure about that particular camera, but on my s5, you can do it w/o CHDK. just press up (has little exposure icon), and then left/right setting your exposure compensation

Edit: It doesnt bring up the simple EV setting I was used to from my previous cam that is :P Instead it brings up shutter speed and F value which is something i just figured out a minute ago, heh. :P I am sort of a newbie :)
