Greetings:

Over the weekend I updated the firmware [installed CHDK] on my Canon SD 700 IS point and shoot. I followed all the install instructions and the install appears to have taken to the camera.
I am a bit confused on one aspect of the new Firmware. I can not for the life of my figure out how to get the ALT menu for CHDK to appear on the Camera.
I have looked at the Wiki however it has not helped. I was assuming that by pressing the direct print button then the menu button that I would be able to access the ALT menu however pressing this button combination [direct print then menu] does nothing.
Can anyone please explain in clear steps me how I get the ALT menu up on my Canon SD 700 IS?
Thank you for your time.

Are you sure CHDK is actually loaded in the camera? Do yo see the blue splash rectangle?

yes I did see the splash screen, also noticed some of the extra display info such as battery life remaining that was not there previously, and the Histogram display.

When you press the PRINT button, you should see in the left bottom corner: Default Script   <ALT>

That means you are in ALT mode. Then, if you press MENU button, the CHDK user menu appears.

Maybe you are pressing MENU button "whilst" pressing PRINT button. That is not correct.

perhaps I missed it that I will have a look when I get home tonight. thank you, and will I only see this option when I am in view mode? or can I access this menu regardless of being in review, auto or manual mode?

You can display the menu in REVIEW mode as well.

But battery icon etc won't be visible.
