but MD doesn't trigger triggering during video record, at least not on my camera the way I've tried. The grid draws but it doesn't trigger. Btw, see this thread: http://chdk.setepontos.com/index.php/topic,1046.0.html. If MD during video record would/does work, that script would just need combining with a regular MD video script (if you want to test on your camera, go to video mode, start record, go to alt mode, start this script in slow mode, burst=0.

Hmmm.... actually this seems to work after all. I made a quick hack to combine my video md and anti md scripts. There's still some problems, probably because I had to rename a load of them single character variables to make chdk show them in a sensible order in script menu and missed some...

Yep, see http://chdk.setepontos.com/index.php/topic,1596.0.html for an "MD -> video -> anti-MD -> stop" script.

VIDEO Compression

You can set video compression in chdk menus unless your camera is a dryos one, I think. There is no interface in ubasic to change that setting, but one can be made if there's desperate need for it for some odd reason.

--> The SD870 (Ixus 860is) have NO video settings yet, no such menu  (as all DryOS cameras) !

What's DryOs cameras ??

I don't understant to, that ixus 850 firmware is three time biger than ixus 860

from wikia, DryOS Porting:
"Since late 2007 Digic-based cameras are shipped using Canon's own Operating System named DryOS. It replaces VxWorks from Wind River which has been used before on Digic2 and some Digic3 cameras. DryOS had existed before and was in use in other Canon hardware, such as digital video cameras and high-end webcams. The reason for the switch were most probably royalties Canon had to pay for VxWorks."

So DryOS is the internal windows / linux your Canon camera runs...

The processor & OS system is shown here: Cameras.

-> SD870 (Ixus 860) is DryOS based, SD800 (Ixus 850) runs on VxWorks

For DryOS cameras there's only one file (diskboot.bin), they do not have a ps.fir (this is for loading CHDK through the "Firmware Update" menu item)...
