On my SD800is I used to low level format my card in the camera almost every time I got done transferring my pics to my PC after a day of using the camera.  Now with CHDK, I am not formatting or even deleting via the camera (would have to re-load CHDK onto the card) and was curious if I may be losing "saving speed" to the card due to this.
Anyone have any sort of input as to how often to format, better to delete in camera or card reader, etc.?

Card Tricks has an option to SAVE and RESTORE the CHDK settings. It also formats and makes the card bootable. Take a look.

If I remember right, the restore partw asn't implemented yet
