In fact, SONY release the A700 for different package: On form is compressed as a whole file, the other form is separate files.
I would like to see to this other form of firmware.

where did you get these files?

A100 dissemble result  & A100 string,A700 string extract file:
http://sites.google.com/site/ccdcamera/Home/A100_dissemble_and_string_extract.rar?attredirects=0

intresting...
it seems you are trying to analyse these files at least half of year
I would like to hear explanation how this file was generated and any additional details you know

I would also suggest you to have a look into previous version of update DSCA700.exe

and into Konika minolta files:
7DV110.EXE
A10V101E.EXE
A1V112E.EXE
A1V113E.EXE
A2V113E.EXE
A2V114.EXE
z3v102e.exe
z3v103e.exe

I'm sure you will be surprised
it seems you can extend your search to get whole picture

Update:
Quote from: Konica
News release details-News Releases | KONICA MINOLTA
Under this agreement, on March 31 2006, Sony will receive certain assets from Konica Minolta PI that are necessary for the development, design, production and so forth of digital SLR cameras compatible with Konica Minolta PI's "Maxxum/Dynax lens mount system".
...
In this relation, we have decided to withdraw from camera business ...
it explains similarity of firmware file structures....

Do you think an R1 would be similar?  I have that camera and would be very interested if it could be hacked.  On the other hand the DSLR's are based on the Konica-Minolta cameras so may use different firmware

Dear all, These days I learn the 40D firmware decrypt and dissemble method,
The biggest question is how to find out the string calling address in SONY firmware ?
For example, How to get the code calling by:
 cSTG_C   0x%08x
    cSTG_IVL 0x%08x
    cSTG_CTV 0x%08x
    cHD_H    0x%08x
    cVD_V01  0x%08x
    cVD_V23  0x%08x
    cSG2T0   0x%08x
    cSG2T1   0x%08x
    tv:%x,sv:%x,NR:%d

If anyone has Konica firmware file structure and resource, please tell me.
Another question is, Whether the Monita (SONY) firmware encrypted ?
