Nope. CHDK histogram shows in that mode which you choose in the menu. In both playback and record mode. You can check it by enabling Y_RGB histogram.
For example:

(Playback mode. The large one is luminance). See the differences?

hmm i'm thinking about a mini histogram, rgb histogram wastes too much space on the screen

GrAnd, on my A620, the playback mode shows the pictures taken, and by hitting the display button you get the choices of three displays, one of which shows a histogram of the image, along with shutter speed, f-stop, white balance, etc. Changing CHDK Live Histogram options doesn't appear to change that histogram display.

no, it does not change the review histogram in any way, that's generated by the original firmware.
the liveview histogram is generated by chdk

Now I'm confused again...

So the histogram you see before taking the picture is from CHDK, but the one seen in playback is from the Canon firmware. Is that correct?
