That SX200 looks like a nice camera.
Maybe there is a way to turn the flash off... (that does sound kind of annoying when wanting to shoot in low light.)
I think the only thing you need to really worry about is the shutter wearing out. Time lapse and stop motion animation (especially stop motion animation) eats camera shutters up quick. Most cameras are not built for constant shooting.
