Hi all,

Ok, I formatted my card , created a root file: VERS.REQ
I dragged the download to the file.

when I put the card in my camera and press the menu and display button at the same time it reads:

Canon PowerShot G9
P-ID:315A  PAL D

Firmware Ver GM1.00D
NoError
Jan 11 2008    08:05:13 (Yes I know the date is wrong)

Is that it??...Can't be. I don't see any changes when I proerate the camera.

Help.

I'm not sure if I understand what you are trying to accomplish.

The purpose of the VERS.REQ file is to display your camera's firmware. In your case: 1.00D

But unfortunately, the PowerShot G9 isn't ported yet. That means you can't use CHDK on this camera. See progress in this thread:
Porting chdk to the G9

You will have to wait a little bit.

Thanks, at least I know now.  I need this for a Cam Remote system that I purchased.

Any guesses on how long of a wait there might be?
