Wasn't sure where to post this. I hope this is the appropriate place. Moderators please move if not.
Just wanted to say hi and introduce myself. My name is Dan. I use the same username "bruner" and avitar at all of the forums I visit. I was directed here by a discussion on my home forum (EDCForums.com) by some fellow members and I'm pretty excited about it.
I look forward to trying to contribute to this forum. I hope you will be patient with me, as I am new to this and still seeking out a Canon camera that I can experiment with.
The last time I had "complete control" of a camera was when I had a Pentax K1000. I sold it to help fund a Ricoh RDC-300Z when they were brand new (I spent over $500 for a that sub megapixel Ricoh, but at the time it was worth it(to me anyhow)). I eventualy sold the Ricoh to help fund my current digicam, which is a Sony DSC-P31. The Sony has served me well, but I never, never, ever should have sold all the older cameras... My Pentax had great value and taught me a lot about photography. That Ricoh took the best macro shots I've ever been able to make.
I'm excited at the prospect of having "complete control" of a digital camera thanks to the efforts of CHDK. Again, I hope to be able to contribute in some way.
Thanks,
Dan
