I am using a simplified version of AdaptiveMD ( - the script would hang at some of the get_prop commands, so some of the initialisation has been removed. )

Active area is columns 5-12, rows 4-9, so the bird must be well into the frame before it is detected.  All other settings are unchanged from the original script.

The camera is set to Program mode, maximum resolution, with manual focus.

Hej,
And how did you attract the bird into your focus range ?

There were sunflower seeds on the ground.  Blackbirds also seem to like raisins or cheese.
