Hi all,
anyone know if the CHDK is available for Powershot G3?
Any plans for making it available for this camera?

Since G3 is Digic 1 there won't be chdk for it for a long time, if ever.

I would also vote for A80. I just compare A80 with my new A650. The ISO 400 on A80 has the same sensitivity and better image quality as ISO 800 on A650. The 4M CDD has very clean image and good dynamic range at ISO 50.

Digic I cameras use DOS as operating system. I think there is an 'SDK' with some examples somewhere on the 'net which shows you how to compile programs in Pascal for DIGIC I cameras. However, the interaction with the camera is rather limited, it makes somewhat a simple terminal out of it. DIGIC II cameras are now cheap to find, A460 I think is the cheapest of them all and has decent output.
