S5IS - lens won't extend when starting chdk + Bracketing issue

Hi all,

Not sure if other S5IS users are having these "problems"?

1) When turning on the camera in shooting mode, it actually starts in review mode and the lens doesn't extend. I have to press the lever to shooting mode a second time to make the lens extend and put it into shooting mode.

2) Maybe I'm not understanding exposure bracketing properly, but when using CHDK exposure bracketing, if I select +/- 1EV it increments the aperture by 3 stops. For example, if I start with f4.5 the next + is f6.3 and the next - is f3.2. Is that right? To change it by one stop I have to select +/- 1/3

I have Firmware version 1.01a running version allbest-s5is-101a-50.zip

1) I've looked into this issue but as of yet I haven't discovered a workaround except for this very simple one: hold the lever to 'shoot' position until the camera is started. If you just shortly nudge it it'll start in review mode but if you hold it, it'll go into shooting mode.

2) No, CHDK is correct, you are wrong. The "camera's increments" work in 1/3 stops. F/3.2 will give you one full extra stop of light over F/4.5. F/4.5 plus 1/3 stop is F/5, F/4.5 minus 1/3 stop is F/4.
