Bracketing in continous mode - tweak?

hi everyone, I have an sd870is, and I downloaded the all best release because I wanted to use exposure bracketing for HDR images. I'm a newbie, but as far as I understood, I set the Tv range and then set the camera to continuous mode, then press the shutter and holding, and voila!
My problem is that I tend to shake the camera (I have a small flexible tripod) when holding the shutter, so my pics move a bit. Is it possible to press the shutter once, release it, and then after, say, a second, get the three pictures in a row? That would really help me.

thanks

Hi guiyoforward,

you can use the self timer - mode (in Canon menu), set the delay to 1s and the shot count (1 to 10 shots).

I use the bracketing for my HDRs the most time with 1 2/3 or 2 Ev,  Bracketing type +/- and make 3 shots with the self timer (available in manual mode).Normally i use the camera in manual mode with disabled the "Clear Bracket Values on Start" setting in the "Bracketing in Continuos mode" menu; so i can take "normal" shoots in "single shoot" mode and in bad light conditions i switch to "Custom timer" and make the 3 shots. Back on PC i decide whether the +/- 0Ev pic is ok or if i make a HDR with 2 or 3 shots...

So with the self timer you can take up to 10 shoots, if you want more you can use a script...

great, thanks! will try that.
Ev and Tv... I get confused. Foir HDR you want in general the same aperture so that the depth of field doesn't change, only the light through exposure, right?

oops, sorry - confused again. I am in manual mode. pressing the dial down, I get four options:
-single shot
-continuous
-10s self timer
-2 sec self timer
-Custom timer

where do you set the shot count?

thanks again

Press the MENU button (outside Alt-mode), it's in the first Canon menu, the 6th entry, with SET/FUNC you'll get a sub menu with the delay / shots - settings...

Hmm, the Ixus models have no iris, they have only a ND filter (not controllable on the SD870 at the moment), so this isn't so easy...

* EDIT:
On the SD870 we only have Tv Bracketing, description from the wikia, CHDK firmware usage / AllBest:

Exposure Bracketing by adjusting the shutter speed (Tv Timing value). (Aperture and ISO remain constant) Sets the exposure shift by an EV (exposure value) in the range 1/3EV to 2EV

We have no Av Bracketing ("Exposure Bracketing by adjusting the Aperture (f/stop). (shutter speed and ISO remain constant).") on SD870...
