Well i loaded the 101.b version of the SDM-CHDK (StereoData Maker) onto a blank SD card.
i dont have the option in my menu for the Firmware upgrade like it said in the help file.
also i cant seem to find my (ALT KEY) i could not find on the WIKI page any info for the S5 IS.

I cant figure out what im doing wrong.
i got that Firmware check to work and yes i do have the b version.
im starting it in play mode.  so i cant for the life of me find why its not working  ??? ???

You need to start in review mode. Then the firmware update option will be available.

bandit,

your S5 is a DryOS (=operating system) based camera, they do NOT have the the ability to load CHDK by the firmware update method - make your card bootable !
There's a new SDM version available (1.71), try it - there's a installer & configuration utility for all...

In the wikia there is an article for S5, the installation is described here: S5 Installation.

I hack my s5 is and after that i decide to remove hack and format my memory card in fat 32 and then when i put the memory in to my camera and in lay mode i put set+display key it show fireware ver. 1.0.1.0 so if i want to show the default message like
Firmware Ver GM1.01A
No error
May 29 2007 18:17:20
what should i do?

Hi mehdi yazdi,

i'm not sure what you want do do...

If you format your SD card (with a card reader or in the camera), all the files on it are deleted, after that the card works in your camera "normal" like any other SD card.

CHDK never changes the original firmware of your camera, it's not a "real" firmware update, only additional features while you have the CHDK files on your card & started CHDK (with the "firmware update" menu item or by Autoload with a prepared, locked card).

The firmware screen with informations like
  Firmware Ver GM1.01A
  No error
  May 29 2007 18:17:20
  ...
will be shown only when there's a file named  ver.req  on the sd card (in the root folder), you start your camera in play mode an then press FUNC SET + DISP...

...have a look to the CHDK wikia: CHDK for Dummies.

And please NO double posts !   ???
