Hello!
How to enter diagnostic mode or calibrate-adjust focus of SD1000 Ixus 70?
The camera not focus corectly when the lens is in wide position (no zoom) when i zoom a little (f=>3.2) its focus OK...
So i think its need calibration - adjustment coz i change the main board and it mast have values from the old lens...
any help....

Are you sure it is possible to calibrate auto-focus? I think it works with contrast, it adjusts focus where contrast is best, so that shouldn't need calibration. Estimation of subject distance could be calibrated, but there is no impact on quality of focus.

I don't know if there is a diagnostic mode, but if there is I'm interested!

Maybe you should try asking Canon (where did you have your main board changed?), they certainly have better knowledge of this kind of things, and keep us posted because we are interested in!

as i know there is no calibration mode.
theoretically needs no calibration(only focusing limits are stored somewhere in the firmware).
maybe the focusing motor doesn't work correctly.

Hello! Before the main board gone and the camera stop working the focus and digital macro sceen was ok!
i change the main board myself... I buy faulty camera from ebay with broken lens and use it board... but the values in the firmware must be for the other the other lens... and now the camera not focusing when its boot... but only after a little use of focus (F= 3.2)
Does anybody knows how to change the values for focus or how to re upload the firmware from the dumped files? (coz canon dont have any firmware for download)
