jojo99,
what fudgey mean is the key shortcut (pressing the +/- key while the ALT-mode is active) you can switch the RAW capturing on & off the same way as you enable / disable it in the CHDK menu.
If you have the RAW picture count enabled in the CHDK OSD you'll see it (the remaining RAW shot counter) as an indicator whether RAW capturing is on or off (RAW picture count visible in OSD = RAW capturing on).
When you accidentally hit this shortcut once (and so turn off RAW capturing), from this moment you'll only have the JPEGs...
I understand what is being said but I don't know WHAT this shortcut key (+/-) is and I haven't been able to find a mention of it in the wiki's I have looked at. I have RAW set on properly through the OSD entry.
I don't go in/out of Alt mode often in the field. Once I set RAW, I usually leave it on.
In the last batch of images the first 2 shots have RAW companions. Then I have 21 shots with no RAW. Then 1 RAW. Then 8 w/o RAW. The 2 RAW. Then 27 w/o RAW. Then 2 RAW. Then 3 w/o RAW.
Since I have been experiencing this problem previously, I had reformatted the card and reinstalled the CHKD software prior to the last shoot. But based on the figures above, that did not help. I think there is a problem with capturing RAWS (perhaps only on the A650 with the Allbest current stable software?).
