Hello to all!
I've got an IXUS70 / SD1000 with firmware 1.02a. Downloaded the relevant CHDK version, uploaded it to the camera just fine. Now the problem is that when I go out of <ALT> mode so as to take a picture, there's a constant message on the screen saying "Set <ALT> Mode 'blank browse'", and I have no idea what I'm doing wrong. Went through all menus, then came here, I looked through the forum, did a few searches, but could not find anything relevant. If the question is silly, apologies, but I really need a solution!
On a secondary note, how do you get the voltage of the battery, to know what to set at MIN and MAX levels? Again I looked through the menus, but I couldn't find it.
Thanks!

there's a constant message on the screen saying "Set <ALT> Mode 'blank browse'"

Check this StereoData Maker

how do you get the voltage of the battery

In ALT mode, use left/right arrow keys to browse over 50 pages of information.

One of the pages shows the battery voltage and high and limits.

Take a note of those limits with fresh batteries and when the Canon battery-low icon flashes.

Use menu settings to enter new limits.

Thanks for the link to StereoData Maker. However, it doesn't refer to this particular issue. Any ideas?
The battery tip was also useful, thanks

alexandr0s,

what Microfunguy mean: seems you have installed the SDM on your camera, not the "normal" CHDK (Allbest).
This "Blank browse..." message exists only in the latest SDM, not in the Allbest build; it's the internal help system...

The SDM is a special version with many improvements for stereo photographing, for your first steps with CHKD it would be easier for you to start with the CHDK "Allbest" build...

The Allbest build #50 can be downloaded here , the latest "Autobuild" version (= automatically generated Allbest Beta Version, at the moment it's #51-437) is here.

More information you'll find in the CHDK Wikia, in the CHDK Wikia FAQ and here: CHDK_firmware_usage, CHDK_firmware_usage/AllBest

Hmm... never seen this message, but I think it might refer to Canon settings, try reading page 67 in your Canon Advanced User Guide (on CD only, at least in my package for i70/SD1000).
Mind, this has no 'blank browse' setting, but it might be a good idea to set it to 'Not Assigned' (default setting) to avoid interference with CHDK's use of the <Alt> button.

hope this helps,

wim

Thanks so much! Now I understand! Downloaded Allbest #50 and works fine. Thanks again for all your kind assistance!
