Thats sad, as it still doesnt work with just pressing the power/play button short. :(

ewavr perhaps you can post a diff of the things you tried so maybe others know where to have a look and maybe find out for themselves?

I wrote about this here.

So, in file loader/sx100is/resetcode/main.c line 94 can be commented-out:
                        "LDR     R0, =0x12345678\n"
                        "MOV     R1, #0x40000000\n"

Look also to G7 loader: loader/g7/resetcode/main.c:

   "MOV     R3, #0xFF0\n"

Nah, doesn't work. Sorry. I can't read Russian, so is this just because you want it to work with the discrete power button codes, or because it actually speeds up the lens extending?

With CHDK I grab the camera with my right hand on the grip, have my thumb hit the playback button and my index finger holds down the shutter until the lens extends... this is relatively quick, takes about 2 seconds longer than w/o CHDK. So the 1s auto-extend would speed this up by a whopping 1s?

I'm confused. But that's normal. :P

No news. Applying the modification from ewavrs last posting in this thread makes it possible to boot directly into record mode, though you need to keep the power button pressed for at least a second.

I'm using this modification in my personal build .. But i'm hoping someone with ASM knowledge will have a look into it. I unfortunately dont know assembler at all, and i feel it would take some time to solve that issue for a newbie like me..  ;)

So, in rev. 596 this problem partially solved:
 - short click "on/off" button - camera powered-on in playback mode
 - press "on/off" button for a  second on more - camera powered-on in record mode
 - press or click "|>" button - camera powered-on in playback mode

Also added jogdial support in menu, file browser and text reader.
Second curtain flash sync was added earlier.
Tested on 1.00C version.
Now SX100IS is almost G7 :D.
