Manual focus is broken with last beta?

The option (override subject distance) was missing in the main menu

So does it work or not? I'm confused...

The option (override subject distance) was missing in the main menu
Ok.

Seems plausible, but I don't really know. I was mostly wondering if there was an actual connector, but I guess they don't bother with that on production hardware.
Don't forget what the H stands for.

did you look at

Interesting is the pad "line" at the SD-Card Slot (second picture). Maybe canon has a special sd-card fitted with some contact to connect to the pads?

Maybe there is simular stuff on other cams?

Do you want a cname that doesn't get censored ? ;)

Interesting thought, I don't see anything like that on D10. I have often wondered if the camera console is available somewhere on production cameras without disassembling, but maybe not. Searching on google I found "digital ixus 70, 75 service manual" and there's no mention of anything like this. It looks like service adjustment is done with USB.

I managed to repair my SD900  :)

It took me some time to figure out what was wrong...

A litte plastic piece at a lens before the senor did break away. This little piece does interrupts a small light barrier to detect the lens position. Without this piece, camera did extend the lens like normal, than producted a mechincal noise (i think the noise came from the gears which move the lens before the sensor up and down) and displayed "LensRestart" Error and shutdown.
I glued the broken piece back to the lens and the camera does work again.

Fixed Lens before sensor:

The used lens i bought in ebay did seem to suffer from an other mechanical problem, so i used only the broken flex cable from it.
