Today, i finally let CHDK (build 0.6.2 rev.535) run on my ixus80 (1.01a) with the help of CardTricks developer, whim.  :D
This software is kick-@ss! I'm really happy now and would like to express my gratitude to all the developers and contributors!
Also, i see now, how enormous camera potential was hidden from us by Canon until CHDK was released...

i use the version for the "A" firmware chdk 0.6.2, 13 oct, fw 101a now,
it's working fine, but in case of save raw images, the green led is blinking all time, only battery removing helps. When i open the battery door Camera is beeping.

Hey, guys, can someone please tell me how to use optical zoom during shooting video?  I did enable it in the alt menu but it's not working.

It's likely not implemented yet by chr. As he's mentioned previously, much of the video support isn't there at the moment (i've not tested this myself, so just going off what's been mentioned).

I just got myself an IXUS 80 IS and am up for hacking around with it. I haven't really looked into the dev process yet though, as far as I read it requires some windows software? (at least I've used IDApro on Linux though it's PITA)
My current problem is I can't even get the current snapshot as the link on the wiki page is b0rked, it just gives me some DB error. Any alternate sources?

@lunkwill

windows necessary ? not really, there's GPL tools, go here for more info For Developers - CHDK Wiki

About the link: could you be a little more specific ? I mean 'the link on the wiki page is b0rked' doesn't give much of a clue ...
btw, are you logged into the forum? can't access attachments if you aint ...

wim

edit: i think you're in luck, btw. AFAIK chr (who ported the '80) is running a linux toolchain

Hi whim,

good to hear that :)
I was referring to the "available"/"Download the latest version here" link from SD1100IS - CHDK Wiki (-> Login) which fails with "Sorry, SMF was unable to connect to the database. ...". Doesn't sound much like a login error, and it still persists when I try now that I'm definitely logged in (I guess I was earlier as well).
