so, DOES it work on 1.0b? he was asking for confirmation on that matter ;)
if it works, i can change the makefile so that a file for the 1.0b is created for those who dont read release notes ;)

yes it woks IXUS80IS  with GM1.01B  firmware. I use the chdk for the a firmware

Found that the ixus80 / SD1100 is now included in the CHDK-SVN Autobuild Download found here:
CHDK Download - build 0.7.6-575, revision #575

Just installed it on my camera about a week ago..  Absolutely love it..

Though.

can it be made to use  different prefixed for names of the pictures?
XXXX  instead of  IMG   just a thought

i found it in the RAW section  but as far as i can tell  not for std. pics

probably not, naming JPG is controlled by Canon code; besides that renaming would probably have
side effects, AFAIK the JPGs are needed to get EXIF info from (for RAW postprocessing)
That said, if you don't need above, you could probably use a script to rename your JPGs -
but why ? your computer will do this a lot faster/easier.
