hello, i had the same problem than andrejoid, Camera powers on and freezes after few seconds after the LED blinks blue, but after power off and power on again, it shows the next message, is in spanish, "error obj. reiniciar camara" and it automatically power off.

how could i make a hard reset?

extracting battery and replacing again dont work
extracting sd and turning on dont work.

What could i do????

@mariscador

try this (if you have not tried yet)

1) extract battery
2) extract SD card
3) unprotect SD card (move tab in direction of card electrical contacts)
4) put card back in camera
5) put battery back in camera

then try starting it, it will now not 'see' CHDK anymore ...

Hmm... Does that: http://mighty-hoernsche.de/chdk/dev/ixus80_sd1100-101a-0.8.1-586.zip version work?

I just built that with gcc4 and no march/mtune/mcpu cflag.. I still dont quite understand where the problem is, but as discussed here, there seems to be a problem with GCC..

So, maybe the not working sd1100 builds are related to the gcc version on the autobuild server.

No, doesnt work either. Why are the IXUS 80 packages so much smaller than the rest? (about 200kb less) Is something missing?

Seeing the last forum post complaints, i have to say, that for me at least, all these CHDKs working without any problem. I tried the 355c, r535 (0.6.2) and now r551 (0.7.2) on a 1.01a and they are operating as expected. I do not understand, what problem could cause the hang for others?

I have to admit, that i did not tried just a few CHDK options (eg. not tested the RAW writing), but what i tried, all worked. Anytime i tried to enter to CHDK menu, it did as expected, never hanged by pressing the blue 'Direct Print' button.

I still use a tiny, 32MB SD-Card to install CHDK on it - only for testing (maybe that could cause a difference compared to a 2GB card) and use CardTricks 1.41 to make it bootable. By the way, i've just run a test on a fresh NOD32 virus scanner: not found any suspicipous about CardTricks 1.41.

Now, i'll try the new r586 (0.8.1) version next week on my 2GB SD-Card and going to report back either it works or not.

I just love CHDK, it just turns my dumbed-down camera into an all-purpose swiss army knife!

As I wrote, the older Version 0.7.2 is working for me too. The major problems start with 0.8.0 from the autobuild.

I have to admit, that i did not tried just a few CHDK options (eg. not tested the RAW writing), but what i tried, all worked. Anytime i tried to enter to CHDK menu, it did as expected, never hanged by pressing the blue 'Direct Print' button.

You don't even have to press the blue 'Direct Print' button. Camera freezes during startup. No user intervention is needed here. (0.8.0/0.8.1)

The 0.7.2 version also is quite buggy and unstable, imho. If you switch to play mode, the camera crashes, same on a few other functions. Not really usable yet.

Now, i'll try the new r586 (0.8.1) version next week on my 2GB SD-Card and going to report back either it works or not.

I'm interested in your results. Please post it together with your firmware ID.

Best regards,
-vh

I'd just like to say that I experience the same problem. The 0.7.2 downloaded from this forum works fine for me but the (new) version from the autobuild server creates the same malfunction as described. a short blue flash and the cam crashes. probably it is an issue with the building process. maybe someone could post a handbuild version here?

best,
F

Here is a build from my win/GCC3 env. I'd be interested to know if it works.
Don't forget what the H stands for.
