ps: anyone got the raw files open?
I used the free dng4ps-2 app for Mac OS X to convert the raw files to DNG (digital negative format). Photoshop could open that without a problem.
I also managed to convert it to a DNG file using dng4ps-2, but for Windows.
To get this to work, you'll need to click on "Settings" and select the "Camera Options" tab.
From there, I selected the Canon PowerShot A720 (there probably is a better option elsewhere, but they are both 8mp so some similarities). Then click the "Copy" button, and rename the camera: "Canon DIGITAL IXUS 80 IS" (this has to be exact, and according to what your EXIF info says your camera is. So if it says "Canon PowerShot SD1100 IS" then put that as camera name). Then press OK, and then convert it!
It works, opens in LightBox Free Ed. However, colours are a bit off.
Hrm, actually, it's because I haven't done the colour profile calculation yet.
So after calculating the matrix values the colours do end up being much better (as well as gamma level adjustments). Probably need to play around with that a bit more, as well as get a better quality image of the test chart.
