Hi all.  I'm new to everything here, digital cameras, CHDK, everything.  I'm reading all I can but I must add that CHDK got me interested in digital cameras and b/c of CHDK, I choose Canon in hopes that the SD1100is will be successfully usable.  In the States, this model is on sale for $175 so I purchased it.  In reading the threads, I'm thinking I maybe should wait for a later hardware revision as mine is GM1.01A and not the C that others appear to have better luck.  Is the C available in the States?  I didn't see any updates on Canon's web site.  When did C come out?  Just curious how long this unit may have been sitting on the shelf in a box.

I'm tinkered with the camera and in its native mode, this camera is great for my needs.  If I can be of help testing things, I'm available.

C is actually the older one, as it is 1.00c. The newer firmware is 1.01a.

I'm a first-time CHDK user, and I can say that its working well on my SD1100 too. I'm impressed at how easy it was to install and use, even in an "alpha" state! Keep up the good work!  :)

Oh, I forgot I've had one issue so far... I can't get RAW photos to load in GIMP with the ufraw plugin. It may just be my version of ufraw or something, has anyone else tried this yet?

Hi, I tried  chdk_sd1100_fdf355c.tgz in my SD1100 IS (1.00c firmware). It works GREAT. Thank you so much guys for your extraordinary efforts.

I felt, the camera draws out power much faster than before. Is it normal or I am getting something wrong?

I tried RAW shooting, it works great. DNG4PS2 worked perfect to convert the RAW file captured by SD1100+CHDK into viewable photograph. I am happy with this. Just wonder, how to get rid of power hunger.

 :)
