more parameters in md_detect_motion

Hi MX3,

I want to ask for a more powerfull and faster command md_detect_motion wich can make the photo from inside md_detect_motion.

1. one more prameter to make the photo inside md_detect_motion:
    0 = don't shoot (use parameter "h" like before)
    1 = shoot
    2 = click"shoot_full"

2. is it possible to use the cell that detected the motion also for fokusing?
    Just return the distance (mm) in another paramater or use it together with (1.).
    That would be great because I like to detect birds in a birdhouse but they don't care to sit in the manually focused
    area.

cheers, Kalli

why do you need this?
I have tried to make (1=shoot) to decrease time between detection and actual shoot
Code: [Select]
rem              |  |  |  |  |  |  |  |  |  |  |   |    |   parameters- 1-make immediate shoot, 2-log debug information into file. OR-ed values are accepted
rem              |  |  |  |  |  |  |  |  |  |  |   |    |   |
rem              V  V  V  V  V  V  V  V  V  V  V   V    V   V
md_detect_motion a, b, i, x, d, c, 1, t, h, 1, f,  a,   f , 1, g, 0

it is equivalent of shoot basic command
it is not implemented well (it is slower then basic command shoot_full)
I will consult with other developers ho to make shoot quickest way

2. is it possible to use the cell that detected the motion also for fokusing?

I don't know
maybe such function would be more useful as a separate basic command

Hej,
You have to use a MD script like fudgey's to use the feature.

The motion detection feature is executed via a ubasic command, so you need a script to run it.

There are many versions of motion detection scripts here and there. You can download fudgey's (the latest?) from here:
Fast MD with burst/preview mode
As you have the Ixus 850IS, you should download the DigicII version.

There is in fact a script section in the wikia, but it is outdated. :(

Ther is also a subsection in this forum about finished working scripts:
Completed and Working Scripts

Have fun!

Yes that's still the latest... I'm actually using an improved version but it's completely and totally a570is specific, uses like a million get/set_props (and even a hazy Ev keypress in slow mode) for LCD Av/Tv/Ev adjustment and is in need of a bunch of new uBasic commands to come even near being portable.

I think I'll make a maintenance release to fix a certain bug nobody's yet to complain about and add the test mode I have in my current version one of these days, though.
