I'm in outdoor advertising and it would please my customers if they say a time lapse video of their monthly campaign.

If I used the time lapse script to make the A530 take a picture hourly without a flash, how long do you suppose the batteries would last?

the camera would be on anyway, so it would last a few hours.

what you could do is:
- take a camera that is able to power on when connected to USB
- do a small timer that powers on the camera every (say) hour
- do an aout-start script on th camera that takes a shot, then shuts down

Anyway, I don't know how many power-on cycles can you have with a normal set of batteries....

Wouldn't the obvious solution be a camera with an external power supply?

An external power supply such as an outlet or a laptop would be not around the camera. It would have to rely only on batteries. Anyone have any experience with an A350 type camera and its battery life?

Well, if your batteries are charged, point the camera at a watch or clock with date and time and run your script.
Guessing it won't be to long. Maybe a couple of days. Why are people afraid to try things?

I'm gonna buy the A610 on ebay. It says here...

that the A610 can do 1200 and 1500 shots without the LCD. Yay!
