Hi people

I'm from Argentina, I'm just bouth an Powershot A570 IS three days ago and have read about the CHDK marvel but I have a lot of questions, so I hope that you can help me.

Mi firmware is 1.0.1.0, can I upload chdk without problems??? Is the allbest 50 the wich one that works with my Canon?
Also, I don't have a car reader. How do I upload it with USB cable?
Once uploaded, could I set to spanish language?
And last, the RAW format sets forever or can I switch to JPEG everytime I need?

I know that, maybe, this questions are answered in this forum, but I want anybody that have an A570 and did this update

Thanx in advance, and greetings from Argentina

Hello & Welcome.

Thats not your actual firmware version. Look here: FAQ - CHDK Wiki

I suppose it wont work, but read here FAQ - CHDK Wiki

I dont know if theres a spanish translation, but actually its quite easy to translate CHDK. You just get the english.lng, rename it to spanish.lng, and then start translate the strings in that file into spanish.

The RAW option saves both the jpg and the raw file, but you can turn off saving RAW with a shortcut.

I recommend you read this: FAQ - CHDK Wiki and CHDK for Dummies - CHDK Wiki

As Hacki says, your firmware version is not 1.0.1.0, but to find out what it is you have to put an empty file called ver.req onto a card. Without a card reader this will be tricky, as will loading CHDK. Card readers are very cheap - just a few dollars - but if you really can't afford one, try and find a friend who will lend you one for a few hours.

There are spanish .lng files here Languages - CHDK Wiki

Well
I've just installed CHDK in my A570 and works very well
I have another question:
when I trie to connect my camera to PC with USB cable, the PC don't recognize it. Is it because the SD card is write protected???

No, it's because you have enabled the USB remote support in CHDK - disable it in the CHDK script menu & your cam will be recognized. If you are using a build with scriptless USB support (e.g. SDM or Juciphox) disable this, too.
