canon a630 video out in camera mode

I have the Canon A630 and it has an A/V out port.  Unfortunately that port is disabled in camera mode, only working in review mode.  Is that something that CHDK could fix, even in theory?

I do not clearly understand... What is camera mode? Record or shooting mode? But I have no problem in any modes. The camera uses TV-out as substitute for LCD screen if it's connected.

i can confirm Grands statement, at least with my A620. When in record mode, i can see the preview on the tv.

Hi!
I have a A630 (oh, really! :P) and the a/v output works perfectly even when in shooting mode.
So I don't see what's your problem.
