I'm looking to set up one of my SD870s as somewhat of a surveillance camera. I know that there are plenty of CMOS and wireless camera options out there, but it would be an interesting journey creating a script that would record video at (x) threshold of movement, that would record for (y) amount of time and then stop recording after (z) seconds of inactivity. Ad nauseum until the memory card is full. Let me apologize in advance if this is not the right way for a noob to ask about such a topic - any information or links to further reading would be much appreciated.
