I have an A460 and would like to change aperture values.

Can I do it with CHDK? If not, or not possible on such cameras is there a way to trick it somehow? I have read about certain ND but I do not really know what it is.

Is there a way to set focus manually?

you can both set aperture and focus manually on the a460.
an ND filter is only built into the smaller cameras such as the ixus series, so don't worry about that.
you can change aperture/focus both via script or via CHDK configuration directly.

What I found in CHDK menus is Ev and bracketing and so on but I did not find Av override settings. I use Allbest's latest release. Maybe I wasn't attentive enough?

Can anyone tell me how can I use the mentioned features?

that is not in the menus because the A460 does not have an aperture.

You can force the ND filter in/out but that only affects exposure, not depth-of-field.

You do not have any control of depth-of-field on IXUS cameras.

The aperture override should be in the "Extra Photo Operations" menu, and its called "Override Aperture Value"

What do you mean it does not have have an aperture? Don't all the cameras have it? Or do you mean we can't set it manually? (see http://www.wrotniak.net/photo/snap/a460-rev.html, it mentions aperture as well)

No.
None of the IXUS have an aperture, nor the A450,A460,A530,A550 or A560

That link actually says "For example, at the widest angle it will use either F/2.8 or F/8, and nothing in-between.

This indicates that the camera does not have an iris diaphragm, but just a swinging plate with a single opening"

He is not quite correct.

There is no swinging plate with a hole, just a 8x ND filter that swings in or out.

For optical reasons, the effective aperture of the lens changes as you zoom from wide-angle to telephoto, but that has nothing to do with an iris diaphragm.
